Hayashiyama Kiln

林山 (Hayashiyama)

Mr. Junji and Mrs. Naoko Hayashiyama operate the Hayashiyama Pottery in Kyoto near the famous Kiyomizu Temple. The couple is known to create vessels that are warm and pleasant. Naoko does the painting, while Junji does the firing. The vessels are fired in kilns located in Sumiyama, about 7 miles south of Kiyomizu, amongst many traditional Kyoto potters.
