Japanese Bush Warbler Bird

(Uguisu)

The Japanese bush warbler (Horornis diphone), known in Japanese as uguisu, is an Asian passerine bird more often heard than seen. Its distinctive breeding call ("hooo hokekyoo") can be heard throughout much of Japan from the start of spring. See "Japanese bush warbler". Wikipedia. Retrieved 2014-12-16. Accordingly, artists often use the uguisu to represent the spring season.
